Salamanca Market is open every
Saturday (except
Christmas Day or Anzac Day) from approx
8am until 3pm. Salamanca
Place is a regular street on weekdays but when it comes alive with the famous Salamanca Market
it is filled from top to bottom with about 300 stalls
selling all sorts of crafts and foods, including a
considerable number of uniquely Tasmanian products.
Salamanca
Market is operated by Hobart City Council. You will find fresh and
gourmet produce, arts, crafts and handiwork from all
over Tasmania, interstate and overseas. As one of the
top attractions in Tasmania, the Salamanca Market is another
good reason to make your stay in Hobart last for more than
just a few days and always try to include a 'market day'.
Many Tasmanian food producers are
represented but you may not always find what you need in the
time available. Island Curries produces ready to go curry packs,
right here in Hobart, their range enables you to make the most
of your favourite main ingredients anywhere. You can try the
full range of hot, medium or mild Island Curries
